PADI* Open Water SCUBA Certification
RiverWinds is thrilled to be able to offer PADI Open Water certifications to the public!
Typically, certifications begin with an hour-and-a-half orientation scheduled approximately two weeks prior to the start of the course, followed by three consecutive weekend day's of class, consisting of equal amounts of confined diving in the lap pool as well as theory in the classroom. Participants will enter the water on their first class. Coordinated at the conclusion of class is the two-day open dive for certification completion. (Additional cost required.)
Registration is open to the public and participants need no prior SCUBA or snorkeling experience.
Swimming requirements: 10 minute tread/float in deep water, and 200m swim with no time limit.
There is a twelve year age minimum, though private lessons available for those ten to eleven.
48-Hour Advance Registration Required.
Gear rentals may be obtained through Ocean Spirit Aquatics, RiverWinds' PADI SCUBA partner.
